"First Light" and "Stag View" Cottages
Both are awarded a Visit Britain Quality rating of Four Star and MOBILITY-Access Exceptional in the N.A.S. scheme.
Jane (a retired nurse) and Stuart are committed to "Access for All". Our objective was to create wheelchair-friendly cottages in the peaceful countryside, within a homely, luxurious environment. We have equipped them with quality furniture and Laura Ashley curtains.
Level screened parking areas to both cottages have setting down points, gentle wide ramps with handrails. External and internal doors are extra wide allowing easy access for electricc wheelchair users.


Both cottages have spacious open plan lounges, dining rooms and well equipped bespoke kitchens. Designed to have second sinks and induction hobs fitted into an extra worktop, at a lower height, with clear underspace, allowing ease of use for an independent wheelchair user.
For your relaxation we provide comfortable lounge chairs (one electric riser/recliner) to enjoy views of the farm and fell. French windows allow level access onto a spacious part-covered veranda.
The twin bedroom has a flexible bed space, wheelchair transfer and turning area between the beds, one of which is an electric adjustable bed. The double room, next to the bathroom, has a transfer space to one side.
The spacious shower/wet-room in both cottages, specially designed for wheelchair users and their carers, is an en-suite to the twin bedroom.



The house bathroom in "First Light" cottage has a luxurious roll-top bath. In "Stag View" cottage the bathroom is fitted with a low level step-in-bath. Both have heated towel-rails, instant electric heating and towel/grab rails.
A hoist, shower wheelchair and wheelchair may be available by prior arrangement. (See Access Statement & Plan for further information)
